Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn was born in the United States. She is best known for her character Skyler White in Breaking Bad, an AMC television drama Breaking Bad for which she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. Other roles she has played include Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Anna Gunn, born 1968 in Sante Fe New Mexico fell in Love with Acting in Preparatory before moving her family in Ohio. She attended Northwestern University to study theatre and also spent time at the British American Drama Academy. Anna was working in the theatre industry in the Chicago area for a few years prior to trying her hand at television and film roles. In the following years, she was an actor in handful of TV shows and movies, such as Seinfeld and NYPD Blue till the latter part of the 90's. She was then cast in a role that she reprised in The Practice as Jean Ward in The Practice. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood during two complete seasons. Skyler was her role in Breaking Bad. Sully as well as Deadwood were also part of her oeuvre. Gunn has also appeared on the stage for David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. Gunn played a part in the podcast's four-part audio drama Numbered days that was released in 2022. Breaking Bad's plot is typically focused on the relationship between Walter White, his wife Skyler and their difficult relationship. The tension in their relationship and the eventual end of it is reminiscent of the last years of Walter White's personal life.
